More than 100 children audition for this year's Nutcracker

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Louisville Ballet held children's auditions Sunday for this year's Brown-Forman Nutcracker.

Over 100 local children showed up for the auditions, which were open to any children ages seven to 18 with at least one year of formal dance training.

About 100 children are cast for parts in the annual performance.

The performance draws out big crowds every year, but some of the children in the musical say stage fright isn't an issue.

"I don't really see them, so I just pretend that no one's there and that we're rehearsing and it feels really fun," Chloe Puffer said.

The Nutcracker has been a part of Louisville's holiday tradition for over 50 years.

This year's performance will run from Dec. 12-20 at The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts.
