Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say an LMPD officer's car hit a pedestrian late Monday night in downtown Louisville and suffered minor injuries.

Police on scene said a man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

About 9:30 Monday night, police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says an off-duty LMPD officer was driving north on Fifth Street and hit a man crossing the street. Mitchell said the officer was turning left onto Broadway and didn't see the man.

Mitchell confirmed the reports of minor injuries to the man.

Police had cleared the intersection shortly after 10 p.m.
