Civilian traffic supervisor in New Albany resigns amid investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Civilian New Albany Traffic Supervisor Paul Speights has resigned amid an investigation, according to a news release from the New Albany Police Department.

"We can confirm he tendered his resignation through a third party individual with the Department on Friday, August 21st," the news release states. "After his initial resignation, Mr. Speights left a voice mail message with the NAPD Command Staff confirming his resignation."

Police say that just before his resignation, an investigation was launched into the, "implementation and execution of his duties as they relate to the City vehicle impound lot."

Police say the investigation is ongoing and declined to release any additional details.
