Radcliff Police officer accused of domestic assault in Rineyville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Radcliff police officer is facing criminal charges after authorities say he assaulted his wife.

Wednesday, Kentucky State Police troopers were called to Terry Moore's home on Thomas Road in Rineyville for a domestic disturbance.

"When we got there, after investigation, we arrested Terry Moore for assault second and unlawful imprisonment," KSP Trooper Jeff Gregory said.

According to the arrest citation, Moore's wife told police "she had been handcuffed and struck with an impact weapon."

Investigators declined to say what kind of weapon was involved. Police say the victim had minor injuries and that she refused treatment. Moore was booked into the Hardin County Jail.

Radcliff Police Chief Jeff Cross declined WDRB's request for an interview but says Moore has been with the department for about five years and before that, he was a state trooper.

Officials say before Moore retired, he worked out of the KSP post in Elizabethtown. The same post that's investigating this case.

"We will handle it just like we would anybody else," Gregory said. "Being where he works and who he is doesn't play a factor. We still have a job to do."

Radcliff Police say Moore is suspended with pay. A judge set his bond at $10,000 Thursday morning.

Moore is due back in court next month.
