LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The driver of a dirt bike was hospitalized with serious injuries early Friday after colliding with another vehicle.

It happened around 6:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Taylor Blvd. near the Watterson Expressway. That's when a man riding a Kawasaki dirt bike collided with a pickup truck pulling out of a gas station near the intersection of Taylor Blvd. and Ashland Avenue.

The man who was on the dirt bike was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries, including broken bones. He told police he was 19 years old. Police say he was not wearing a helmet, but a paintball mask was found nearby.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The northbound lanes of Taylor Boulevard were closed for about 90 minutes while police cleared the scene. Police were not immediately sure who was at fault.
