Police say Louisville man robbed Kroger on Breckenridge Lane

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man after they say he robbed a Kroger store late Thursday night. 

According to the arrest report, it happened just before midnight on Aug. 27 at the Kroger located on Breckenridge Lane. Police say 37-year-old Gilbert Gonzalez approached the customer service desk and indicated he was armed. He demanded and received business cash and exited the store. 

The arrest report states that an employee followed Gonzalez as he left the store and watched him "until he was apprehended by police." 

Police say Gonzalez admitted to the robbery during questioning. 

He is charged with first degree robbery.
