LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested and charged a man with murder in connection with a July homicide.

Christopher Winstead, 20, was arrested Friday night in the 8000 block of Oakmont Drive, near Outer Loop, according to official police records.

Lt. Todd Kessinger, of the LMPD Homicide Unit, says the victim was 65-year-old Fred Baker. Friends and family referred to Baker as "Skip."

Police say on July 8, Winstead offered Baker a ride, which he accepted.

Authorities say Winstead took Baker to Blevins Gap Road.

Police records say when Winstead got to the location, he allegedly "stabbed the victim numerous times resulting in the victim's death."

Winstead is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday.
