LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Tuesday, officials at Churchill Downs announced the track would receive $18 million in improvements.

According to a news release, the track will receive improvements in several areas.

A bigger Stakes Room on the fourth floor of the Clubhouse will combine the current Stakes Room, Aristides Room, Directors Room and Turf Club Lounge. The current fourth floor balcony will become a covered patio.

The third floor Turf Club, Indoor Premium Boxes and Matt Winn Dining Room are also set to receive upgrades as part of the multi-million dollar plan. The Turf Club will receive a balcony that features booth and table seating. The Turf Club Roses Lounge will feature a new bar, banquet seating and individual dining tables. The Turf Club Boxes will also be re-modeled.

The private Directors Room, which is currently located on the fourth floor of the Clubhouse, will be re-located to the third floor.

Premium seating will be added to the fourth and fifth balconies.

The upgrades are expected to be completed by next year's Kentucky Derby.
