LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A group of West Louisville residents is asking Walmart not to give up on the proposed store at 18th and Broadway.

Plans to build the Walmart have been on hold for months because of a lawsuit protesting the approved design of the building.

The group who filed the suit says it wants a design that better fits the neighborhood. But Walmart says those changes aren't financially feasible.

A new Walmart could bring with it up to 350 new jobs to the area.

"Can you imagine what's going to happen once Walmart goes up? All the traffic and movement that's going to be going on?" Neal Robertson said Tuesday.

"People are going to have jobs ... But eight or nine people are stopping that."

Those who gathered Tuesday are fearful Walmart may choose to drop the plan altogether and move on to a different community.
