LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's still welding and painting to be done on a new restaurant at the former KT's location at Lexington Road and Grinstead Drive, but there's been thousands of reservations already.

From the moment you step in the door, it doesn't feel like your typical restaurant as crews work hard to get Le Moo ready for opening day on Sept. 19.

"This is actually Le Moo. He comes to us from Texas. He's a Texas Longhorn," Le Moo Owner Kevin Grangier said.

Grangier, who also owns Village Anchor, wants his new restaurant to be a new experience for diners complete with elaborate artwork and fancy chandeliers.

"Whether you feel like you are in a Paris restaurant or a warehouse in Manhattan, I just want it to be some place different," he said. "I want people to want to think they are somewhere else."

Grangier expects his new Louis Vuitton booth to become "the place to be."

"I bought about seven or eight suit bags and vintage bags and unfortunately I had to have them cut up," he said. "It was very painful, but created this look and feel that you're going to get."

Grangier says Le Moo will be a mid-price range restaurant known for its steaks.

"We have 14 cuts of steak, probably the most thorough steak menu in the city because I've done a lot of research," he said.

"We've got a Guinness chocolate cake with Baileys cream cheese frosting," executive chef Chip Lawrence said. "We have a pecan pie cheesecake."

"We have about 30 different original cocktails," Grangier said. "They all have some sort of cow theme like the Mootini and Moogarita. So we are very excited about that. We have a 1200 bottle wine cellar."

There have already been 2,000 reservations -- half of which are for the soft opening.

You can make reservations for Sept. 20 or after.
