LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Four people, including three children, were rescued from a house fire that happened early Sunday morning.

The fire happened in the 700 block of Dearborn Avenue, near West Broadway, according to Louisville Fire & Rescue spokesperson Capt. Sal Melendez.

A call about the fire came in just before 2:30 a.m.

A man driving by at the time rescued three people from the home.

When firefighters arrived, they pulled a third child from the home.

All four victims were unconscious and taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

The adult was taken to U of L Hospital; the three children are being treated at Kosair Children's Hospital.

There is no word on their conditions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears it may have started in the kitchen.
