ELIZABETH, Ind. (WDRB) -- The newest addition to the Horseshoe Casino in Southern Indiana combines food, drinks, sports and live music all under one roof.

Horseshoe general manager John Smith said they're pulling out all the stops to make Smoke and Rye a sizzling success.

"It was clear to me that we have to find different reasons for people who don't gamble to come across the bridge. The way to do that is great food, great entertainment and great nightlife," said Smith.

Smoke and Rye is a $2.5 million project that's finally open after a year in the making. The menu features 160 selections of bourbon and Ryes, and plenty of barbecue dishes to choose from.

All of the meats are smoked inside of the restaurant. You may think you're inside a giant barrel while eating at the new restaurant due to the polish, shiny wood.

The VIP Rye room can be rented out for special corporate meetings and other events. For the food and music lovers out there, Smoke and Rye may be a one stop shop. Local artists and headliners will start performing next week.

On Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 p.m., Vertical Horizon, will bring their classic alternative rock sound to Smoke & Rye, with their hits “Everything You Want,” “You’re a God,” and “Best I Ever Had.”

On Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 p.m., David Lee Murphy, known for his Top 10 Billboard country hits “Dust on the Bottle” and “Just Once,” will take the stage.

The manager at Smoke and Rye predicts the restaurant will be the new football season headquarters, where everyone can eat, drink and watch the big games.

"On Sept. 27 it's the place you can watch the game with all the hall of famers.  Eddie George will be here.  to analyze the game.  and dine with the guests and every month after that we have a few players up our sleeve that are going to be here," Smith said.

Smoke and Rye's grand opening is next Friday, Sept. 18.
