JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WDRB) -- Two people were arrested in Indiana over the weekend after police found drugs in a vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to a news release from Indiana State Police, it happened just before 4 p.m. on Sept. 13. That's when a state trooper stopped a 1996 Ford F-150 in the southbound lanes of I-65 near the 51 mile marker.

Police say the trooper became suspicious after talking the vehicle's occupants, and called for a drug sniffing dog. K-9 Jinx arrived and alerted to an odor of an illegal drug coming from the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, the trooper found marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and other controlled substances in the vehicle.

The driver, 55-year-old Dewayne Anderson, from Louisville, was arrested on charges of dealing heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of cocaine, all felonies. He was additionally arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Anderson's passenger, Tylanna L. Couts, 31, also from Louisville, was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects were being held in the Jackson County Jail.
