LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've found a cache of suspected stolen goods, and now two people are facing charges.

According to arrest reports, police were called to Pee Wee Reese Road sometime around 11 a.m. Sunday after getting reports of suspicious activity in Seneca Park. A witness reported that a man driving a red 2000 Jeep Wrangler was trying to break into several parked vehicles, pulling on their door handles to see if they were locked. The witness also said that the Jeep's license plate was covered by a grocery bag, according to police.

An officer who arrived allegedly saw the Jeep pulling away from the reported scene. According to arrest reports, the vehicle was traveling at 30 mph in a 25 mph zone.

The officer then conducted a traffic stop. Arrest reports indicate that the driver of the Jeep was 40-year-old Darius Young, and 40-year-old Candace Young was riding in the vehicle as a passenger.

Police say Darius Young consented to a vehicle search. Inside the Jeep, officers allegedly found "a wide variety of suspected stolen property," including multiple purses, cell phones, cameras, wallets, tools, medical equipment and checkbooks.

Subsequently, police say they were able to track down two separate theft victims, who were able to positively identify over $500 worth of stolen items that belonged to them.

"A number of other suspect stolen items as yet remain unclaimed," an arrest report states.

Both Darius Young and Candace Young were taken into custody and charged with receipt of stolen property, according to arrest reports. They are currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
