State Police say niece of suspect who shot KSP trooper arrested, pursuit reached 115 mph
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police now say Trooper Cameron Ponder, who was shot and killed Sunday night initially stopped the suspect’s vehicle for speeding at 103 miles per hour.
However, they say the vehicle reached about 115 mph during the pursuit.
Police also say 18-year-old Ambrea Shanks, the niece of suspect Thomas Johnson-Shanks, was arrested Monday.
According to KSP, she was also in the car when Trooper Ponder pulled them over. Ambrea Shanks is accused of hindering prosecution or apprehension.
