LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A police pursuit in southern Indiana ended Monday evening when the driver shot himself, according to Indiana State Police.

Police say they were called to an armed robbery around 7 p.m. Monday at the Green Meadows Trailer Park in Corydon. A Harrison County Deputy Sheriff arrived on scene as the suspect fled in a silver sedan on State Road 135 towards Interstate 64.

Harrison County Deputies, along with State Police, conservation officers and a Corydon Police, pursued the vehicle onto I-64 westbound.

Troopers attempted to stop the car with a “tire deflation device” near mile marker 86, but were unsuccessful. Police followed the car through Crawford and Perry counties, into Dubois county until Ferdinand police were able to puncture the driver’s right front tire.

After the driver turned around and headed back east along I-64, another attempt to puncture the car's tires was successful and the driver slowed near Tell City.

Officers say the suspect shot himself and was pronounced dead on scene.

Indiana State Police are investigating and say the suspect’s identity will be released later.
