LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Ever wanted to kick the habit? Now you can stop smoking for free. The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness is offering free stop-smoking classes.
It uses a 13-week program with weekly support group meetings, and free weekly supplies of nicotine patches and gum. The program has a 42%, compared to a 9% success rate with using patches and gum alone.
There are courses starting this month and in October.
There are several ways to register: by phone 574 - STOP (574-7867), email StopSmoking@louisvilleky.gov or online.
Below is a list of classes that begin in September and October. The day listed is the beginning class of the 13-week program.
