LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro police ask for help in finding a south Louisville man who may be in danger.

They issued the "endangered missing person" alert about 6 p.m. Thursday for 47-year-old David R. Floyd.

The alert says Floyd was last seen about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 8200 block of Rocky Gap Road. That's near Harpers Ferry and New Cut Roads.

It also says Floyd "has made threats to harm himself" and that he needs to be located to check on his welfare.

Officers believe Floyd may be in a black, 2001 Mazda Tribute with a possible Kentucky license plate of 578-HZW.

Floyd is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 275 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on Floyd's whereabouts is asked to call the Louisville Metro Police tipline at (502) 574-LMPD.
