LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he assaulted another man during an argument over a meal payment.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 7:30 Thursday night in the 1200 block of Euclid Avenue. Police say the victim was cooking meals for the Bingham Men's Club when 59-year-old Anthony Cowherd "became angry over paying for a meal."

That's when police say Cowherd hit the victim in the face. After a struggle, police say Cowherd ended up on the ground. When the victim tried to help Cowherd back to his feet, police say Cowherd hit the victim "several more times in the face, then kicked him in the face, knocking him unconscious."

When the victim awoke he was at University Hospital with a fractured jaw and other injuries.

Cowherd was arrested and charged with one count of assault.
