LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested a man officials say robbed and cut a man.

Isshaq James, 31, was arrested Monday morning, just before 1 a.m. on East Liberty Street.

Police say James demanded money from a victim.

Official police records state that the victim refused and was then punched several times by James. Authorities say James "then pulled out a knife and cut the victim's finger."

Investigators say as the victim screamed for help, James left and a witness arrived.

Officials say the victim was able to identify James as he drove by in a vehicle.

The official police report says an officer stopped the vehicle James was traveling in. Authorities say James matched the victim's description.

Police say James did not have a license in his possession or proof of insurance.

While James was stopped, the victim approached police and said James was the person who robbed him.

James is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a robbery charge.

He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
