Not guilty plea entered on behalf of man accused of creating fake Facebook page to get nude images of minors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man accused of making a fake Facebook page to get naked pictures of underage girls faced a judge on Monday.

Police say 42-year-old Gregory Mathis pretended to be a 15-year-old boy and asked girls to send him nude photos. When investigators searched his phone, they say they found at least three videos or pictures of minors in a sexual performance.

A grand jury indicted him Friday on nearly 40 charges.

A not guilty plea was entered for him today and the judge raised his bond to $30,000 full cash.

"The bond has to reflect what the offense is," said the judge. "And these are very serious offenses. You're presumed innocent of these offenses, but I'm looking at what are you charged with, not whether or not you did it. And what you're charged with requires an appropriately high bond."

If Mathis posts bond, he's been ordered to have no contact with minors, and no access to the Internet.
