LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The first public foot golf course in Louisville opens this weekend in southwest Louisville near the Bobby Nichols golf course.

Members of the Louisville City FC soccer team tried out the course Thursday, which isn't as easy as you might think.

"It is really challenging. I mean it's up, it's down, it's doglegs, there's water, there's bunkers.  Everything you'd find on a golf course, you're going to find on a foot golf course," Metro Parks Deputy Director Marty Storch said.

The city's other foot golf course opened earlier this summer, at Woodhaven Country Club off Bardstown Road.

Officials say kids who are just starting to play regular golf may use the course as well, to make things a little easier to get the ball in the hole.
