LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A soldier who was missing at Camp Atterbury after she missed a check point Thursday morning during a "land navigation exercise," has been found, according to a spokesperson.

Capt. Jessica Cates said the warrant officer candidate was found by soldiers just before midnight. She was healthy and unharmed and was returned to her quarters.

That soldier missed a check-in at 11 a.m. and about 150 active-duty Atterbury personnel had been searching the camp’s property for her.

Cates said the soldier was found outside of the 1,000-acre navigation course, and though the incident is still under investigation, it's likely the soldier simply got lost.

The navigation course is a heavily wooded area with some hills, Cates explained. It is situated on Atterbury’s 33,000 acres.
