LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - They cooked their best dish, hoping for a chance to impress celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Embassy Suites was packed with people Saturday auditioning to be on Season 7 of Fox's MasterChef, which can be seen on WDRB.

Louisville is one of 10 cities hosting open casting calls, looking for great home cooks who want to show off their skills.

One possible contestant who's been cooking since he was 13 years old says he has what it takes and hopes the judges agree.

"I grilled some chicken breasts with stuffed portabella mushrooms with some thyme, green peppers, red onions, spinach and mozzarella cheese," Terence Cisero said. "I hope they're speechless."

The winner of the show gets $250,000 and and a cookbook contract.

If you missed the casting Saturday, the deadline for application forms and video submissions is Friday, Oct. 9.
