Former employee of North Oldham High School pleads not guilty to sex charges

LOUISVILLE Ky. (WDRB) -- A former employee at North Oldham High School charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student pleaded not guilty Monday afternoon.

He faces charges in both Oldham and Jefferson counties.Twenty-five-year-old Kyle McCoy is facing several charges including rape.

Officials say McCoy met the 17-year-old victim in a band class at North Oldham High School, where he worked as an assistant, and that the victim's parents contacted the school after they discovered several text messages between their daughter and McCoy, some of which included pictures of McCoy's private area. 

Court documents indicate that victim admitted that she had sex with McCoy at his apartment in Louisville on April 27.

Today in court, the McCoy pleaded not guilty to rape, sexual abuse and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. The judge ordered McCoy to home incarceration. He was also ordered not to have contact with the victim, or the victim's family.

McCoy last worked at North Oldham High School in April of this year.  He worked at the school for two years. 

We tried speaking to McCoy after court, but he refused to comment. He's scheduled to be arraigned in Oldham County on Oct. 1.
