LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a man who died after being shot in Old Louisville Sunday.

According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Larry Carroll, that man was 30-year-old Montriel Romine.

It happened in an alley between South Third and South Fourth Streets near Oak Street around 9:30 Sunday night, according to LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley.

Smiley says the Romine was taken to University Hospital where he later died. According to Carroll, an autopsy was performed on Monday and the cause of death was determined to be two gunshot wounds to the torso.

People who live and work in the area are concerned about the violence.

"It's very bad, very terrible," said Leigh Suazo. "There's a lot of stuff happening in this neighborhood. I work over here. I wish it would be different, I wish it didn't happen, but there's a whole lot of stuff happening over here."

Detectives are searching for anyone who may have heard or saw something in the area.

This makes the 57th murder in Louisville so far in 2015; there were 55 murders in all of 2014.
