LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man authorities say paid for a woman to be assaulted with a lead pipe.

Charles Fambrough Jr., 39, was arrested Monday afternoon at his home in the 2800 block of West Main Street, near North 29th Street, according to official police records.

Police say Fambrough allegedly paid $1,500 for a woman to be assaulted with lead pipe inside a bar. Police say the incident happened at the Wright Way Bar, located at 501 North 33rd Street on Sat. August 29. Police say Ernest Powell Jr. and Vernon Wolfork allegedly approached a female victim and began hitting the woman in the head and face with a lead pipe.

Authorities say after the attack, the two men took the victim's iPhone 6.

Police arrested Powell and Wolfork and charged the pair with assault and robbery.

Police say they were able to obtain Fambrough's name through investigation.

Investigators say during an interview with police, the victim stated she believed Fambrough may have been behind the attack.

Officials say the victim and Fambrough had had trouble on several occasions. Police records say that in one incident Fambrough allegedly slapped the victim. Authorities say the victim admitted that she had scratched Fambrough's motorcycle.

Police say the woman suffered bleeding to her brain and that her jaw was broken in three places as a result of the attack. Authorities say the victim has undergone surgery to repair damage to her jaw. She has also had a metal plate attached to her jaw, according to police.

According to police, Fambrough rode past the victim's home after the attack and allegedly told other witnesses that "no one is going to get him for this," in reference to the attack.

Fambrough is being held at Metro Corrections on a solicitation of assault charge.
