LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shepherdsville's mayor, accused in a sex scandal, is refusing to take a plea deal.

The attorney for Shepherdsville Mayor says Scott Ellis will not take a plea deal offered by the prosecutor. There's no word on the details of the deal Ellis rejected.

"I do think we view the situation a bit differently," said Ellis' attorney, John Cook. "I have received some preliminary discovery, after receiving that (plea deal offer). "I couldn't suggest my client entertain any kind of plea."

Ellis was indicted on a misdemeanor charge of solicitation to prostitution in July of 2015.

Investigators say Ellis made promises for sexual favors.

The Bullitt County Sheriff's Department says three women have come forward with allegations.

Ellis' trial is set for Nov. 13.
