LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville City FC is set to return to the pitch at Slugger Field after more than a month’s absence.
The USL’s 2nd place finisher in the Eastern Conference will host the Charleston Battery in a playoff game Saturday night. Louisville City (split the two regular season matchups with Charleston this year.
“It’s going to be a very difficult game but at this stage of the season, for us to be involved, it’s fantastic,” said Louisville City FC head coach James O’Connor.
Louisville finished the regular season with three straight losses on the road. Their last win was a 4-0 victory over Harrisburg City on September 2nd.
“The fact that we’ve be away for three games, I think it’s great to actually come back in front of our home supporters and have a playoff game,” said O’Connor.
Saturday’s match is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm at Louisville Slugger Field. The winner moves on to the Eastern Conference final.
