LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sacred Heart and Shelby County earned trips to next week's Girls State Golf Championships at a wet Girls Region V Championship Tuesday at Weissinger Hill Golf Course in Shelbyville.

The Valkyries, who have won four consecutive State Titles, made it back-to-back region crowns with a 317 total.  They were led by Sophomore Ryan Bender who shot a four-over 76 during the rain-delayed round.  Bender is the daughter of Sacred Heart coach Leslie Bender.

Light rain fell throughout most of the day, but it turned heavy early in the afternoon causing a 45-minute delay before resuming play.

Shelby County shot 341 as a team to earn its way to Bowling Green.  They were led by Junior Lilly Young who was region runner-up with a six-over 78.  A pair of SHA golfers, Erin Rowland and Morgan Tinsley along with Henry County's Maddie Hensley shared third place with 79's.

Manual, Collins and Kentucky Country Day rounded out the top five in the team scoring.  Hensley, Molly Bebellar of South Oldham, Manual's Lucy Suo and Claire Watts of Collins all qualified for the state tournament as individuals.

Bowling Green Country Club will host the event October 9th and 10th.
