Louisville leaders reveal details about "Holiday in the City" celebration
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- City leaders say the celebration following this year's Light Up Louisville will be bigger and better than ever.
The month-long celebration will be called "Holiday In the City."
Light Up Louisville will take place the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 27.
It will again feature a parade with Santa Claus, a Run, Run Rudolph 5K, and the official light-up ceremony.
Starting November 23, the plaza at Fourth and Jefferson Streets will be transformed into "Holiday Square."
"(It) will feature a real ice skating rink, entertainment programming, and a world market that's housing an Amish-built custom wooden chalet, like our fine example right here," said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.
Fischer is asking visitors to post pictures from Holiday Square to social media using the hashtag "HoLouDay."
