LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A homeless man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after St. Matthews Police say he walked into a complete stranger's home and helped himself to the shower.

The incident took place just before 3:30 p.m. at a home on Alton Road, near Browns Lane.

Police say two young boys called to report that there was a stranger in their house. The boys described the stranger as a white male wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans.

When police arrived, they searched the home and found 29-year-old Ryan Tweedy hiding in the basement.

Tweedy allegedly told officers that he had just gotten out of the hospital that morning. According to the arrest report, he said it was cold and discovered that the side door of the home was open, so he went inside.

While inside, Tweedy said he used the shower, changed his clothes and left his bloody "wife beater" and underwear in the bathroom on the floor behind the door.

Tweedy initially gave officers a false name, and spelled it two different ways. When asked for a social security number, he gave part of one, then stopped and said, "Oh I don't remember," according to the arrest report.

He eventually admitted to his true identity.

Police arrested him and charged him with second degree burglary and giving police officers a false name.
