LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman is facing life-threatening injuries after police say an Elizabethtown man drove drunk, crashing into a tree.

According to an arrest report, it happened on Wednesday, Sept. 30, just after 7 p.m.

Police say 26-year-old Chris Lague was driving a white Mercury Milan, with a woman in the front passenger seat, when the car hit a tree.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to a Louisville hospital for treatment.

When officers arrived, they could smell alcohol on Lague's breath, according to the arrest report. Police say he told them he had consumed a 12-pack of beer before driving.

Lague was arrested and charged with first degree assault and DUI.

The condition of the female victim is not known.
