7 months after JCPS students were killed by a train, Magre says rail company is delaying safety gates

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A metro council member claims a railroad is delaying putting up safety gates at a crossing where three teenagers died.

The teens were killed in March when their car was hit by a train at the Crawford Avenue tracks in the Buechel area.

Steve Magre says the city and state are taking steps to add safety gates at the crossing, but that Norfolk Southern Corp. is delaying the project.

The company has not yet responded to the claims.
