Community members offer sweet deal to LMPD and U of L officers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Delivering sweet kindness. That's what the people involved with "Cookies for a Cop" say they did Monday at LMPD and U of L police headquarters.

The project started with a Facebook post in northern Kentucky asking people if they would help bake cookies for police officers.

Now, 108,000 cookies are being delivered to officers across 27 states.

"It's just a way to give back. It's a way to teach my kids to help and to give back and to just do things for people who have such a tiring and thankless job. Just to make them know that there are people who genuinely do care about them," said Lindsey Arnold, a spokesperson for the group.

Two cookies are delivered per officer.

The group has a GoFundMe page for those interested in making donations so they can buy cookies, packaging and K-9 treats.
