LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Kentucky Board of Education is set to meet Tuesday, and one of the top items on its agenda is approving the contract for the new Education Commissioner.

Stephen Pruitt has already been named the sixth education commissioner in the state's history.

On Tuesday, we should learn how much he'll earn and how long his contract will last.

Pruitt's first day on the job is set for Oct. 16.

He will oversee the education of 675,000 students.

WDRB education Reporter Toni Konz will be at the meeting in Frankfort, and she'll have a full report on wdrb.com after she sits down with Pruitt to discuss his new position.
