Two women arrested after vehicle hits patrol car

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in Clark County have arrested two women after a patrol car was rear-ended.

According to an arrest report, it happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday on US Route 31, near Perry Crossing Road. That's where a police officer noticed a car traveling northbound in the southbound lane, The officer states that he slowed down and pulled to the side of the road, but the vehicle served toward him and rear-ended his patrol vehicle. 

Police say the vehicle continued northbound in the southbound lanes as the officer began pursuit. The vehicle finally stopped approximately two miles down the road at US 31 at Morning Mist Drive.

Police say the driver of the car left the car and refused to obey the officer's commands. The suspect, identified as Kelsey Salyers from Kentucky, was tased and brought under control. 

That's when the officer noticed a female passenger, Brandi Monroe, who also resisted arrest. 

Salyers refused to refused to undergo a field sobriety test, and blew .134 on a portable breathalyzer. Police say she had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. 

She is charged with resisting law enforcement, OWI refusal, OWI endangering a misdemeanor. Monroe is charged with resisting law enforcement.
