LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A portion of downtown Frankfort has been evacuated due to a gas leak.

Less than 100 people were evacuated Wednesday morning in the 300 block of West Main Street in downtown Frankfort, according to Director of Emergency Management Tom Russell.

Columbia Gas is investigating the cause of the leak.

The courthouse, County Clerk's Office and courthouse annex were all evacuated and will likely be closed for the rest of the day.

Officials say they do not believe there is a current threat to the public.
