Charges dismissed against protesters at Ky. State Fair event

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gay rights activists arrested after protesting at a Kentucky State Fair event no longer face charges.

Prosecutors dismissed charges against three people, including Chris Hartman of the Fairness Campaign. They wore matching tee shirts in a silent demonstration at the Kentucky Farm Bureau's Country Ham Breakfast in August.

The Fairness Campaign has protested the event for years because of the Farm Bureau's opposition to same-sex marriage, among other things.

The activists now plan to file a lawsuit.
