LMPD needs help identifying home invasion suspect

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- A thief is quietly walking up to homes, then helping himself to what's inside.

The suspect didn’t realize he was caught on surveillance video.

Police say the man most recently broke into a house on Brighton Drive, near Bowman Field.

Take a look at the surveillance video and see if you recognize him.

A neighbor, Leo Hauber, said the incidents make people in the neighborhood a little nervous.

"Well I know that they happen periodically, but it does give you a sense of uneasiness," he said.

Police say there have been several break-ins in the same neighborhood, but they're unsure if the man in the video is responsible for all of them.

"When you go outside you ought to lock your doors," Hauber said. You ought to close your garage and make sure the house is secure if you're out doing lawn work. For instance, if you're mowing your yard, there's a lot of noise that goes into that and you don't pay attention to your home. So your need to lock your home as you got out and work in your yard."

Police say he's gotten away with at least one flat screen TV and is forcing entry to steal high-priced items.

If you know who he is, you're asked to call 574-LMPD.
