Construction begins on Clark County Museum in Jeffersonville

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Construction has started on the Clark County Museum in Jeffersonville.

The museum was accepted as one of Indiana's Bicentennial Legacy projects. Phase One of the project is scheduled to be complete by next September, when the state's bicentennial torch passes through Clark County.

The Lewis and Clark expedition that explored the West started from the Clark County town of Clarksville in 1803.

Clarksville calls itself the oldest American town in the old Northwest Territory.
