LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Jefferson County Public Schools recommends two options for the boundaries of the new Norton Commons school.

The first option would draw from Chancey Elementary's existing boundary and part of Zachary Taylor's boundary would be reassigned to Norton. The second option would draw the boundary using only Chancey's existing boundary area and there would be no changes to Zachary Taylor students.

Officials considered four things in drawing the boundary lines, including the number of students the building can accommodate, the number of students who attend JCPS, the continued development at Norton Commons and the expected development in other parts of northeastern Jefferson County.

JCPS says it would like the approval of the options by the next meeting.
