LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville Metro Police found a body in a box in southern Jefferson County Tuesday afternoon, according to a department spokesperson.

Officers found the body off South Park Drive, east of Minor Lane, about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Police could not say the gender of the remains or whether there are signs of foul play involved. Initial reports said the body was that of a male.

A spokesperson added there is no obvious cause of death.

Police officers blocked the intersection of Minor Lane and South Park Drive for the investigation, taking place in a wooded area just to the north of the Gene Snyder Freeway.
