Jury decides gun store is liable in shooting of Wisconsin police officers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A jury finds fault with a gun store after two Milwaukee police officers were shot with a gun bought at the shop.

Jurors found that Badger Guns was liable and negligent and the store will have to pay $730,000 in damages.

The shooter bought it through what's called a "straw purchase," which is when people who are not allowed to buy firearms have others buy guns for them.

The sales clerk says he was never trained in the federal laws of selling a firearm.

Officers Bryan Norberg and Graham Kunisch were shot and wounded in the line of duty in 2009.
