LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say a Clark County man is facing more than 100 charges in relation to child pornography and tampering with physical evidence.

Christopher West, 33, was arrested Wednesday following a search of his home by Kentucky State Police.

According to a KSP news release, West is charged with 104 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

West was arrested following an investigation. Officials with KSP's Electronic Crime Branch began investigating West after he was allegedly found on various social media sites discussing topics related to child sexual exploitation.

Police say West engaged in conversations about the desire to perform sexual acts on children.

Authorities say equipment used in the crime was taken and sent to the KSP Forensic Lab for examination.

West is being held at the Clark County, Ky. Detention Center.

If he is convicted, West could receive one to five years in prison for each count.
