LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the body of a man found in a box near South Park Road Tuesday afternoon, but the cause of death remains under investigation.

According to deputy coroner Larry Carroll, Jeffery David Kingdon, 55, of Texas, was the man found dead in a wooden box in southern Louisville.

Carroll said the cause of death is still under investigation, meaning there is no official cause of death still.

Police shut down part of South Park Road near I-65 and the Gene Snyder Freeway late Wednesday morning while detectives searched for clues. The body was found in a heavily wooded, secluded area.

Carroll said Kingdon has a last known address in Fort Worth, Texas and funeral arrangements are pending.
