LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In an ongoing effort to bring nature into the neighborhoods, Louisville has opened another section of the Parklands at Floyds Fork.

Turkey Run Park is 800 hundred acres of meadows, forests, and fields. It also features 13 miles of new bike, walking, and hiking trails as well as event space.

It's the third park to open as part of the 19-mile long Parklands development, which is part of the Louisville Loop.

"Our number one priority, which is the experience all of you have when you come to this park, is the experience of the best urban park in the world," said Dan Jones with 21st Century Parks.

You can get to Turkey run by the Billtown Road Exit off I-265 in Eastern Jefferson County. The next section of the park system to open will be Broad Run Park. That's under construction, and should be finished in the spring.
