Fire crews respond to two-alarm fire on Bishop Lane

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A MetroSafe dispatcher says fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire.

Officials say the fire happened in the 3800 block of Bishop Lane at Industrial Carbide Saw and Tool Corporation, near Poplar Level Road.

MetroSafe says a call about the fire came in around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Fire officials say the fire was under control by 12:40 p.m.

Fire started in the back of the building. Witnesses say the business was closed at the time the fire happened.

Firefighters from the Okolona, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews and McMahan Fire Departments were at the scene.

Officials tell WDRB the business was a facility that produced metal cutting tools.

The Jeffersontown Fire Department says the use of a drone helped to provide an overhead view of the fire, which allowed firefighters to gather information about how to best battle the flames.

There is no word on if anyone was injured.
