Cave enthusiasts get married Saturday underground at Indiana Cavern

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Two long-time cave enthusiasts tied the knot Saturday in a place special to each of them.

Brad Barcom and Goniela Iskali got married in Indiana Caverns just outside Corydon.

"I heard tell of this really hot Albanian caver who was a bat biologist," Barcom said. "And I thought, 'I want to meet her!"

The two met in 2012 in the Binkley Cave system in Indiana, and they decided to return there to get married.

"I was the first one, with my team, to see this room that is now Indiana Caverns," Barcom said. "And then to meet my wife on a caving trip to Indiana Caverns was amazing.

"It's a special place in many ways."

That special place is an unusual spot for a wedding, but Barcom said it's perfect for he and Iskali, a quirky couple in almost every way.

"I think anybody that knows us knows that we'd do it our own way." he said.

"I think it's great we got to do it in Indiana Caverns.
