BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WDRB) -- An Indiana University student has been dismissed from the university after being charged with attacking a Muslim woman.

Triceten Bickford, 19, says he doesn't remember the alleged attack happening.

Bickford said, "I'm so sorry to that woman. I have no idea who she is, but words can't explain how much that -- just like -- I've never hurt someone like that before."

Bickford says drinking alcohol and not taking anti-anxiety medicine led him to commit the offense.

The 47-year-old he's accused of attacking says he shouted racially-charged threats before grabbing her by the neck.

The alleged victim, who has asked not to be identified, said, "That never happened in my life. He pulled my scarf off. If I didn't grab his hands, he could have killed me."

Bickford faces several charges including intimidation, strangulation and battery.
